The Little French... Uh....Plastic Table

When I first spotted this table, I immediately gravitated to it, totally drooling over it's sweet curves.  Upon closer inspection, I was quite surprised to see that it was not made of wood, but a molded plastic!  Well, the top is formica and pressed board, but nonetheless, it's a heavy and quite sturdy table.  So....I took the chance.


You wouldn't know at first, huh?

Closer look at the legs....


Nice "carvings"!


Now look at it with a couple of coats of paint.


I chose to use American Paint Company paint on this one.  I used Rushmore as the base and topped it with Home Plate.  I wet sanded it to expose some of the Rushmore.


I gave it several coats of clear and dark wax.


I would have to say that this is a trash to treasure happy ending!

  1. WOW, you would never know that it's not wood. I think you did a terrific job on the table. I have a little table project I am going to be working on also.
